Bulletin 03: Frequency of Use of Facilities and Supports for Physical Activity and Sport
Bulletin 3 of the 2009 Physical Activity Monitor examines the perceptions of Canadians, broken down by demographic, as to the number of supports and facilities (e.g. safe places to walk/cycle, trails, and designated and non-designated facilities) available in the community to promote or encourage physical activity (PA) and sport, as well as the frequency of use of these supports and facilities. In addition, trends between 1999 and 2009 are looked at. Except for places to safely walk, frequent use of each type of facility or support is moderate-to-low.
