Women

Physical activity and sport participation among adults remains low with only about half of adults achieving national recommendations for physical activity and an even lower percentage (27%) participating in sport. Over time, women have reported lower rates of both physical activity and sport participation compared to men. This section highlights data describing the specific experiences among women in physical activity and sport. The information presented here will provide important insight to inform policy to increase participation among women.
